Heart-Warming Comments from Selfie with Mom Contest

“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.” ~  Stevie Wonder

Our Selfie with Mom contest is over. The best part was that our participants not only shared their pictures but also touched their mothers’ hearts by sharing their innermost feelings about them. Now isn’t that heart-warming?

Some of the comments were straight from the heart. Daughters and sons too expressed their emotions whole-heartedly capturing the sweet bond they share with their moms. No language can express the power, and beauty of a mother's love. Not everyone is a writer. But many participants sportingly joined in, writing the cutest messages, some of them in pidgin English (which we feel was deliberate to make it sound informal and fun and we loved it!).

Our Moms have been our pillars of strength and the reason of our smiles through their endless sacrifices. A mother's love runs deep and its power knows no limit.

Let’s have a look at some of the beautiful comments shared by our followers:

Mamta Gupta shares how her mother stood against sex determination 37 years back and brought her into this world.

Mamta Gupta: My mother Poonam Bansal who is the reason of my existence and is very special to me and I'm connected to her from the first day through umbilical cord and an unspoken bond was formed that day only. She stood against sex determination 37years back and brought me into this beautiful world. Later on she started an NGO for the women's help who are in need in the name of FLYING BIRD. It's truly said that God can't be everywhere that's why he created mothers. Today on woman's day I want to say that you are the most precious pearl of my necklace and you always enhance my beauty...”

Pinky Dholakia credits her mother for her career. She shares how her mother stood by her to follow her dreams and helped launch her designer boutique even when whole family was against the idea.

Pinky Dholakia: #GiftsForMom #NaturalBathNBody My Inspiration, Most Special women in my life My Mom Panna Kirti , is the superwoman in my life. She hails from a conservative town but has enlightened views about life. She is not afraid to go against the wind and takes pride in standing up for what is right. She's my pillar of strength that supported me when I was ready to crumble.

At a time when everyone, including my own family, had abandoned me, she held my hand and fought against the evils imposed by society, shattering the barriers of caste, creed and religion, to accept and welcome me for who I am. She not only supported my decision to pursue a career after marriage, but also recognized my talent, encouraged and helped me set up my own designer boutique that lets me showcase my creativity. Truly an amazing woman who never ceases to inspire me! Her presence makes a beautiful difference in a lot of lives including mine.”

Moms are our best friends. This is aptly described by Puja Riya Samanta who shares an amazing friendship with her Mother and how she has been her pillar of strength when she lost her love.

Puja Riya Samanta: “I don’t know how to begin writing something for someone who has literally 'made' me what I am today''.. someone who has carefully moulded me into the little that I could become and who has sacrificed her whole life just seeing her 'little girl' forever smile.

Well its none other than my “MAA”….From Tom & Jerry to Harry Potter, Panipuri to Ice-Cream.. Maa has been my every single thing for my life. My mom says, “You are my wit and anger...the silent but deadly one'' I love making her listen to my endless chirpings'' the one person who tried to close my eyelid on a night when I just could not sleep.. a night when I lost my love. My Maa was the only one who can’t stop her tears to see me crying...and I know I can’t bring those nights back, can’t bring her sleep back but I hope I can help her dream again. We have the weirdest nicknames, the cutest lil songs and jingles that we made since childhood. On dis Mother’s day I don't say a little thanx to my mom but I want to say that “MAMMA YOU ARE MY HEART, YOU ARE MY LIFE..MY FIRST AND LAST LOVE FOREVER.”

There were many comments shared and we recommend you check out more on the contest page. Once again, a big "thank you" to everyone who submitted their comments making the contest even more engaging. We hope to see more awesome stuff from you in the future.

And lastly, don’t let Mother’s Day be a one day affair. Thank your Mom and show gratitude for all the sacrifices she has made for you! There is no one like Mommy!
